BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL

Pathfinder Private School came into existence on the 1st of August 1996 in the acquisition, rehabilitation and expansion of the former Jamila Nursery and Primary School.The school started with inherited population of about thirty pupils, four teaching staff, a nanny and a cashier. With orientation and direction the school has been witnessing tremendous growth both in population and facilities. In 1998, Pathfinder Comprehensive College was established to cater for our children that are graduating from primary section to give room for continuity. The school is fully registered by Kano State Ministry of Education in Nigeria and it is a centre for West Africa Examination Council(WAEC) and National Examination Council(NECO). The first set graduated from the school in 2004. Since its establishment, the school has been providing its worth both in academic and extra curriculum activities. This was demonstrated in the Indomie cup won by the school in Kano State, 3rd position in Male football competition organized by Nigeria Turkish International in collaboration with Kano football Association(KFA), 2nd position in female football competition. One of our Student emerged the best female goal peace Cup competition. 2 pupils from primary section came 4th in Mathematics competition organized by Nigerian Turkish. Furthermore, since the school started writing external Examination, our performance has been outstanding which led to yearly increase of candidates writing examination in the school. In 2005, a petition was written against the school by a competitor which led to the withholding of the result, at the end of the day, the school was vindicated and the result was released after a whole year with outstanding performance of the candidates. Many of our students are now in various Universities, Polytechnics and College of Education both in Nigeria and in abroad.
